The Byurakan Astrophysical Observatory (BAO) has a rich tradition of organization of astronomical meetings since the early years of its existence. These include IAU Symposia and IAU Colloquium, international meetings devoted to the anniversaries of BAO, V.A. Ambartsumian and other famous astronomers, JENAM-2007 (organized together with the Yerevan State University), conferences on the problem of extraterrestrial civilizations, joint colloquia between BAO and other institutions (Abastumani Observatory, Leningrad University, etc.), ArAS annual meetings, summer schools for young astronomers, etc. Altogether, 104 meetings have been organized during these 78 years.
